    Almost 2 Years

    Hey Everybody,

It's your old pal Doug.  I'm sure most of you thought that you would never see another post from on this site.  But I figured this might be one of the best ways to keep everyone updated on what's happenin in my life.  For those of you who might not know, I've moved back in with my parents.  This happened around June of last year.  I had lost my job due to lack of work so the company ceased to exist which really makes it difficult to pay people.  I've been working at Menards since July.  I have officially dropped out of classes.  ( I know what you're thinking, but I've already looked into it and school isn't a necessity for a part-time ministry position.)  I was just recently promoted to Asst. Dept. Manager in our Cabinets and Appliances Department.  It's been pretty exciting.  In other great news, my girlfriend, Miss Abby Rosswurm, and I have been dating for almost two years now.  If you haven't met her, you need to.  She's an amazing woman.  Enough of the mushy stuff.  I'm working on plans to move back to Muncie around July and August.  With my position, I can pretty easily transfer to another store without having to worry about loss of pay or anything.  I'm not a huge fan of retail, but it's deffinitely working out in my favor right now :)!  I haven't bored you guys withn my ramblings.  I'll try to post things as they happen and keep you all updated on the happenins.  Don't be affraid to drop me a line.  I hope you all have a great week and I look forward to hearing from everyone.

    Later,

    Fresh

  • Long time, no post.

    Hello Everyone,

I appologize for the 4 month delay on my posts.  It has been brought to my attention by several people that I should post a little more often than that.  I must say that a lot can happen in that amount of time.  If I recall, the last time I posted, it had something to do with RJ and Kathy getting engaged.  I hope this message can be just as exciting for everyone.

For those of you who don't know, and believe me, there's a lot, I recently returned from a week long missions trip to Alabama.  I went with 1st Presbyterian Church here in Muncie.  We left Sunday, May 21 and returned on Saturday, May 27.  This trip was an amazing experience.  I wish I had some pictures to show everyone what we did down there.  I helped lead 12 retired members of the church on several reconstruction projects.  It was incredible to hear the stories of the people we were helping, plus the stories of the people I was with.  I thought that this was going to be a bit of a vacation.  I was wrong.  We worked from 7 in the moring until 5:30 at night.  It was great to see all of these people just pouring their hearts to help in any way they could.  For my first ever missions trip, I must say that I'm hooked.  If you want more details, you're going to have to ask.  I'd be more than happy to tell you about it.

In other news, RJ moved out of my house and got a place up by my parents.  He has spent the last month or so fixing it up.  He has made some major improvements.  I must say that I'm rather proud of him and Kathy.  They have spent a lot of time trying to get that place looking like brand new.  Even though I miss my older brother and best friend, I'm glad to see him get a place where he and Kathy can live together when they get married.  Way to go Bro!

For those of you who I normally talk to, but haven't for a long time, I'm terribly sorry.  I've been so busy with work, the missions trip thing, and trying to get stuff figured out with RJ, that I really haven't had a whole lot of time to talk and hang out with people.  I'm going to make an effort to call people and try catch up with you all in the next few days to weeks.  This week may be a little iffy due to the fact that I'm working close to 13 hour days during our blitz build.  So if I don't call you right away, please bear with me.  And once again I'm sorry for taking so long to try and talk with all of you.  Until next time, I hope you all Have A Great Day!!!

  • Hello Everyone,

Long time no talk.  Sorry it's been so long since anyone's heard from me.  I've been a little busy lately.  I've had some rather exciting events happen in the last month, especially within the last week.  For those of you who don't know yet, my brother proposed to Kathy Likens on Sunday.  It looks like I'm gaining a sister in about six months.  Although I knew it was going to happen, it's still exciting to see it all unfold.  I couldn't be happier for the two of them.  I wish I could have been there to see R.J. drop to his knee in front of everyone.  From what I understand, he was very smooth .

As I said, I've been very busy lately.  I've been on the road for the last week and a half.  Last Thursday was the first time that I had seen my own bed in over a week.  Boy was it a beautiful site.  Since I've had the last month off, I decided to do a little traveling.  I went to see my family just about every weekend.  I had a couple road trips in the middle.  One was planned, the other was necessary, but not planned.  The planned road trip was to Bloomington.  I went to a retreat for Americorps.  I had blast with my new friends, and even managed to sneak in a little time for some old ones too.  It was nice to be able to go outside and not have to worry about putting on long sleeves.  I got back from on Thursday, just in time for FT.  I surprised all of the fellas with a special treat of White Castle .

No sooner had I returned, but I left Friday morning to go snobmobiling with my dad in Travrse City, Michigan.  I had a great time with my dad, Aunt Carolyn, and Uncle Denny.  The weather was beautiful, the trails were mostly smooth, and the best part was that I didn't have to pay for a thing.  I love spending time with my family.  They're a very interesting crew.  I appologizing if I'm rambling, but I've had a lot of stuff happen in a short period of time.  It doesn't help that I'm so excited about upcoming events.  Thank you all for being patient.  I promise you that I will try to post more comments on your blogs that.  I know how much it means to me to see that people are actually reading mine.  Thanks everyone.

    Have a great day!!!

    Your friend,

    Doug

  • I Love Christmas

    Hey Guys,

I just had a wonderful weekend in Michigan.  R.J., Kathy, and I went to visit my dad in Elsie.  I finally got to see Shar, who I hadn't seen or heard from since Thanksgiving.  I also got to see my little brother Mike and my older sister Kaytie who I hadn't seen since last year around this time.  It was a lot of fun catching up with the family and reminiscing while performing the family traditions.  We played ping-pong, threw darts, played a couple different types of UNO, and watched about 5 different movies.  I love Christmas.

R.J. and I got some good gifts and some pretty fun ones as well.  Dad Ron and Anna seem to believe that R.J. and I like to dress alike, so they bought us matching jogging suits.  It looks like Dad Cayle is getting some new clothes :).  We also got tons of food.  We were able to fill our entire freezer, half the fridge, the pantry, and two cabinets with all the stuff we got.  We won't have to buy groceries for a month.  Did I mention that I really love Christmas.

In other good news, I just found out today that I'm going to be getting three weeks off of work in February.  So I was thinking that maybe I could take a road trip or two.  All I need is a place to crash and some extra cash.  If you guys have any suggestions, feel free to let me know.  I've gotta run to class, so I'll catch you cats later.

You guys have a great day!

    Doug
